(More customer reviews)Did a lot of research and this was the absolute best in price/performance to upgrade my legacy AGP system to a hardcore gaming machine. It was $10 less when I bought it though. The power requirements state 450w power supply but I'm running fine with 300w. I actually have a CD-ROM, two hard disks, and three PCI cards running as well on this machine but it has no extra fans other than that of the CPUs.
XFX have good support and a fantastic lifetime warranty if you register. So don't forget to register. The fan on this card is silent yet the card runs at a cool 52 celcius at idle and 56 while gaming ! The card's core speed also automatically slows down when it reaches a dangerous 125 celcius in order to provide safe overclocking.
Strange: overclocking is not officially supported by the vendor, even though they provide you a software tool and document on the driver CD to help you overclock !
One thing you have to keep in mind, the card is a long one ! I have a spacious tower, yet I barely got it in and plugged the power cable at the end (!) (it had already maxed out any space, shouldn't the plug be at the side of the card to make things easier space-wise ?) So you might need to start shuffling disks around if you're already out of space. But even though the card is thin, still I moved my other PCI cards way down to give the fan more breathing room and better ventilation.
