(More customer reviews)I got this so I could use more than one HDMI output to the DVI connection on my monitor. The DVI connection is HDMI compliant. I've been building my own gaming PC configs for 15 years with awesome results. This time I treated myself to graphics cards with VGA,DVI,& HDMI output to a monitor. All you need is a DVI to HDMI adaptor. The graphics cards I got came with it. So,now I have my PC,PS3,& Cablebox going to this switch. Alot of people don't understand how this switch works.
Each port must sence a signal coming from a source in order for you to be able to switch to that port. Example= My PC is hooked up to port#1 & must on for me to select that port. The same thing for my PS3 on port#2, it must be on. My cable box is different,it seems the signal is always present even if the cable box is turned off, port#3 indication light will always light up green when I switch to that port.
One important thing is to use the cable that came with it for your first hookup. Take notice as to how good this cabel looks. It is thicker than some of the cheeper cables because it has better insulation & will prevent RF noise lines on your monitor making you think there is something wrong with your graphics cards.
Do not use cheep cables for any hook up to this switch, you will get RF= radio frequencey noise lines & pixels on your monitor screen. This switch works great :)
